On 2 September 2026, the Residence of the Embassy of Spain in Stockholm hosted a special Spanish Evening, organised by the International Philanthropic Society in cooperation with the Embassy of Spain in support of the World Childhood Foundation established by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden. The event brought together members of the diplomatic, artistic, business and cultural communities around a shared purpose – supporting children in need.
The evening was marked by an elegant and warm atmosphere, combining meaningful encounters with philanthropy, art and culture. Guests took part in a charity auction and lottery, contributing through their presence, generosity and support.
Special gratitude goes to H.E. Luis Cuesta Civis, the Embassy of Spain and the entire Embassy and Residence team for their hospitality and commitment to making this meaningful gathering possible. The official IPS report highlights the cooperation between the Embassy of Spain and the International Philanthropic Society and their shared support for the work of the Childhood Foundation.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to Kanthi S. Beck, President of IPS, whose dedication and continued commitment to international philanthropy have created opportunities for people from different professional and cultural backgrounds to come together in support of important humanitarian causes.
A particularly touching part of the evening was the performance by the children of Lilla Akademien, adding warmth and emotion to the occasion.
The evening would not have been possible without the generosity of the artists, designers, businesses and individuals who contributed works and special items to the charity auction and lotteries. Among those acknowledged were Catrine Näsmark, Ludvig Bergström of GMK Gallery, Bank Hotel, Svenskt Tenn, Giselle Valle, Agneta Livijn, Imane Belkeddam and Halina Rosa.
The Spanish Evening was a beautiful example of how art, fashion, culture and diplomacy can come together in the service of a greater purpose. It also demonstrated the importance of personal engagement and international cooperation in creating initiatives that connect people while supporting those who need it most.
Our sincere appreciation goes to all the guests, donors, artists, partners, performers and supporters whose presence and generosity helped create such a memorable evening.
Sometimes the true value of an event is not measured by what is displayed or celebrated, but by the connections it creates and the good it inspires.
