Halina Rosa: Mita, you began your food journey in 2001, discovering the importance of clean eating for a healthy body. Can you share more about the challenges you faced and how you found your way to the GI method?

Mita: Absolutely. At 16, I found myself in the cycle of fad diets, experiencing fluctuations in weight and frustration. It took a toll on my metabolism and digestive system. In 2001, I embraced the GI method, losing over 20 kg by simply eating the right foods. It was transformative, prompting me to share the message through Sweden’s first GI cookbook in 2002.
Halina Rosa: Opening GI Boden and Food for Life seem like significant milestones. Can you elaborate on the impact they had, both as a business and in promoting the GI method?
Mita: GI Boden in Odenplan became a hub for theoretical and practical GI courses, along with nutritional coaching. In 2005, I established Food for Life, an EU-approved production kitchen in Vällingby. We supplied food to various sectors, emphasizing the importance of clean eating. The idea for Singel-Pac, allowing individuals to control their meal content, emerged during this time.
Halina Rosa: Bringing MitasMat to Lidingö must be a proud achievement. Can you share the journey from conceptualizing Singel-Pac to having a take-it-away shop?
Mita: The journey involved overcoming challenges and navigating through different production facilities. However, the concept of empowering individuals to decide their meal content persisted. Now, MitasMat’s Take It Away shop on Lidingö is a tangible realization of that vision, allowing people to make mindful food choices.
Halina Rosa: Your passion for holistic well-being is evident. How do you see the connection between clean eating and overall health?
Mita: I strongly believe in “Eat clean, from jord till bord” – from earth to table – minimizing unnecessary additives. Food is the body’s elixir, a form of undermedicine. It’s a philosophy I’ve embraced, and I’m dedicated to helping others achieve optimal well-being. Life is short, and I want everyone to feel their best.
Halina Rosa: Thank you, Mita, for sharing your inspiring journey and insights into the importance of clean eating. Wishing you continued success with MitasMat.
Mita: Thank you. All the best!
