Lotta Tamba: Welcome, Renata!

Renata: Hello Lotta and everyone watching our live from my home.

Lotta Tamba: Could you introduce yourself and tell us about what you do?

Renata: My name is Renata Rosen, I’ve been living in Stockholm for many years, and I am a photographer.

Lotta Tamba: Do you work exclusively with photography?

Renata: Unfortunately, not yet. That’s my goal, but for now, I’m employed elsewhere and do photography on the side. I aim to work with photography full-time.

Lotta Tamba: I understand. It’s important to work with what fascinates us, our passion.

Renata: Absolutely, Lotte! Exactly.

Lotta Tamba: How did your journey with photography begin?

Renata: My adventure with photography started a long time ago, back when cameras had film rolls with 16 or 32 exposures. Deciding what to capture and how was crucial. I remember eagerly awaiting the developed photos, the magic moment of opening the envelope. It was a magical experience. Over the years, I took photos for myself, for pleasure, and kept them in a drawer. Recently, I met people who noticed my talent, convinced me that my photos are valuable, and encouraged me to show them to the world. So, I started taking photos professionally.

Lotta Tamba: Did you study photography?

Renata: No, I am self-taught. For me, it was more important to listen to my inner voice and showcase the world as I see it. Capturing a person or nature in a way that reflects my perspective is a significant challenge. At first, it was difficult, but now I believe I can convey emotions, capture moments, and portray the atmosphere in my photos. Many people confirm that, and I’m thrilled about it.

Lotta Tamba: Fantastic! Do you sell your photographs? If yes, where and how?

Renata: Not at the moment. Last year, I had a few exhibitions of my works. Currently, I’m working more on commission, photographing fashion shows, events, and the like. I also photographed Hollywood stars on the red carpet at the International Stockholm Film Festival 2023 (Eathen Hawk, Maja Hawk, and others), as well as Swedish celebrities. Additionally, I collaborate with The Designer Magazine and Halina Rosa. Halina is my mentor, and thanks to her belief in me, I am where I am now.

Lotta Tamba: So, you sell finished photos and take photos on request?

Renata: Yes, that’s correct. Besides, I’m working on my website, http://www.lightphotorenatarosen.art, where you can order sessions and purchase all the photos displayed.

Lotta Tamba: Great. What is your goal?

Renata: As I mentioned, my goal is to work as a photographer 100%, travel worldwide, meet interesting people, collaborate with other photographers, open my photography studio, capture people, and derive pleasure and satisfaction from it when I see that I’ve captured unique moments and emotions.

Lotta Tamba: Can you share a funny or strange story from your photography experiences?

Renata: Unfortunately, I can’t provide a specific story, but what’s wonderful is everything that happens behind the scenes, the conversations, situations during the photo shoots—things I can’t talk about. Each photo tells a story: when you look at my photo, you see only what’s in it, but for me, there’s much more—emotions, situations, laughter, stress, cold, tears. It’s a wonderful, incredible feeling.

Lotta Tamba: What do you think is the biggest challenge in your creative business?

Renata: My challenge is to photograph at a high level both technically and spiritually. I mean developing myself to better capture the truth, beauty, and everything else I see in people, situations, and nature. Additionally, more pragmatic things like how to develop my photography business to sustain myself and dedicate my precious time only to photography and collaborations with art enthusiasts. I’m currently pondering and working on this. I’m open to new possibilities and collaborations with others.

Lotta Tamba: Exactly, there are two aspects to the business—the artistic and the practical. Balancing both is crucial for success.

Renata: Exactly, Lotte. I agree with you. There are two parts to the business—the artistic and the real. It’s important to balance both to bring abundance to yourself.

Lotta Tamba: What are your plans and what are you currently working on?

Renata: Right now, I’m going on vacation to Rio, where I’ll be photographing the Samba Carnival. Let’s see what gems I bring back. After that, I have several fashion shows, events, and exhibitions lined up.

Lotta Tamba: OMG, that sounds amazing. I want to come with you. Take me to Rio. Will we see photos from there?

Renata: Hahahaha, of course! If everything goes as planned, I want to capture the carnival and share it with you and everyone.

Lotta Tamba: Wonderful, Renata.

Renata: Besides, inspired by the creativity of A. Warhol, I created my artistic piece—a fantastic poster, my baby. For those who would like to buy it, I can prepare it in various formats and materials such as glass, paper, and many others. It’s available for purchase on my website http://www.lightphotorenatarosen.art

Lotta Tamba: Fantastic, what a great idea! Wow! I have goosebumps. I’m always amazed when people create something meaningful. I’ll try to ask you another question. Let’s see! Okay, I’ll ask you a few quick, fun questions!

I’ll say one word, and you respond with the color it represents for you. Ready?

Renata: Yes!

Lotta Tamba:

  • Photography

Renata: Rainbow

Lotta Tamba:

  • Creativity

Renata: Purple

Lotta:

  • Freedom

Renata: Green

Lotta Tamba:

  • Fashion

Renata: Well, it’s hard to describe with one color, but let’s say blue.

Lotta Tamba: Okay, those were colors, and now, four questions where you have to choose either this or that!

Lotta Tamba:

  • Sneakers or heels

Renata: Heels

Lotta Ramba:

  • Winter or summer

Renata: Definitely summer

Lotte Tamba:

  • Asia or South America

Renata: South America

Lotta Tamba:

  • Vacuuming or washing dishes

Renata: Washing dishes, but ideally, none of these. Hahaha!

Lotta Tamba: Hahaha! Thank you, Renata. I’d like to end the interview with two questions.

Lotta Tamba: Do you have any advice for people who want to do similar things as you?

Renata: Yes, of course. I would like to say that everyone should follow their heart and do what they find important. Don’t listen to others! There will be many people on your journey who will be supportive, but there will also be those who say you can’t do anything and aren’t worth anything. Remember, do what you feel, and don’t pay attention.

Lotta Tamba: Would you like to say anything before we conclude the interview?

Renata: Maybe you should wrap it up since it’s my first life, and I’m a bit nervous.

Lotta Tamba: Oh! Okay, I’m satisfied. You did a great interview, answered all my questions, and provided valuable advice.

Renata: I also want to thank you, Lotta, for this interview. It was a pleasure talking to you. Thank you very much.

Lotta Tamba: I also thank you very much, and we will hear from each other again in the future as we will be doing many things together.
