Interview: Halina Rosa in conversation with Lucaz Enigma – the artist who gives fashion a second life

Halina Rosa (HR): Lucaz, your work has captivated audiences across Europe and beyond. Your creations feel like more than fashion—they’re experiences. Where do your ideas come from?
Lucaz Enigma (LE): I am drawn to the future—not some distant, abstract idea, but the one we can shape here and now. Cyberpunk, technology, art… for me, these are not just aesthetics. They are a vision of a world where creativity and self-expression coexist with responsibility. Yet, my heart is grounded in the earth. Fashion today produces millions of garments, only for them to be discarded. Where others see waste, I see possibility.

HR: Your new collection, “AFTERGREY PAST REWIRED”, transforms forgotten materials into bold statements. How do you approach creating a piece that becomes art in itself?
LE: Each piece carries a history. I sift through forgotten jackets, ties, and deadstock fabric—each fragment holding a memory. Then I breathe new life into it, turning it into something bold, functional, and alive. This is not merely upcycling; it is resurrection through art. I want viewers to pause, to feel emotion, to wonder at the story woven into each thread.
HR: Your shows are known not just for daring designs, but for storytelling and theatricality. How important is the experience of presentation to you?
LE: Immensely. Fashion alone can be art, but when it is staged—whether on a runway, in a gallery, or a theater—it transforms. I want the audience to step inside the world I imagine, to feel transported. For a brief moment, reality disappears, and imagination reigns. That is the magic of it.
HR: Your philosophy bridges futuristic vision and environmental consciousness. How do you see the future of fashion evolving?
LE: Fashion of the future must be lasting, conscious, and fearless. It is not about fleeting trends or instant gratification. Each garment should tell a story, respect the planet, and spark reflection. That, to me, is true revolution.
HR: What do you hope visitors to your Green Little Heart pop-up will take away from this experience?
LE: I hope they leave feeling that fashion is more than clothing—it is a manifesto, a form of art, and a source of inspiration. I hope they understand that courage and creativity matter, and that even the smallest choices can shape the future.
HR: Lucaz, thank you. I’m eager to witness your world come alive on the runway.
LE: Thank you, Halina. See you on November 6th—BE BRAVE, BE YOU.
