Marlena Wach is an attorney-at-law, Legal Contracting Counsel, Ethics & Compliance, AI, and Data Privacy with 23 years of experience in advising internationally and locally on contracting, M&A, IP, e-commerce, fashion & design, media, marketing, e-commerce, and corporate law. She is an expert in compliance, including data privacy, AI, big data, AML, and trade compliance law. She has unique expert knowledge in telecommunications, new technology, competition, IT, copyright, privacy, consumer protection, advertising, internet, and law, as well as civil and commercial law, EU law, contract law, and regulatory issues. She is experienced in negotiating all sorts of contracts, including IT and commercial contracts, particularly outsourcing, M&A, e-commerce, media, and software contracts. She represents marketing agencies, media, and broadcasting, and publishing global and local companies.
She cooperated with K&L Gates Warsaw office, Sygnity (an IT company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange), and worked as a senior associate in the IP/TMT Practice at the biggest Polish law firm Domanski Zakrzewski Palinka (DZP). She also headed the Telecommunications Practice at Bird & Bird law firm and the Technology, Media and Commercial Group at DLA Piper law firm in Poland. She has been involved in many telecommunications, intellectual property, media, data protection, and commercial matters. She worked for over 7 years as an in-house lawyer for one of the Polish mobile phone operators (T-Mobile).
She worked for the European Commission in Information Society and Media DG and had been involved in telecommunications issues, e.g. roaming, transposition of telecommunication directives, NGA, spectrum, and net neutrality. She represents clients before public regulatory authorities and courts.
Marlena Wach has been a member of the senate of the Warsaw University (SWPS) and worked as a lecturer in a Law Faculty for over 4 years providing lectures on civil, commercial, consumer, and private international law. She is the author of many publications, articles, and a few books. She has also given TV and press interviews on law and business matters. She is regularly leading training sessions, workshops, and conferences.
She has also decided to take care of DESIGNER magazine.
